Bush Critter Yarning

Sunday 24 July 10am - 12.30pm

Register

Spend a morning in the Wellsford Forest sitting around together as families enjoying a yarn and collaborating to create bush critters that find refuge in the Wellsford Forest.

We will be using hay/straw, wool and a range of bush materials to create amazing sculptural pieces of natural art based on indigenous practices from the Boonwurrung culture around the bayside and peninsula regions of Victoria.

You will leave feeling more connected to country, more connected to people and with a beautiful and highly unique piece of art created by your family.

Please bring 3 or 4 balls of new or second hand wool per family. We will have some bush materials to share but you may also like to bring some eg. gumnuts, feathers, bark, seed pods, etc
We will be sitting on the ground on tarps to create our art. Please bring a chair if you would be more comfortable.

You may like to bring a picnic and rug for during / after the event.

Bendigo Family nature Club hosts free events with professional field guides.

Bendigo Family Nature Club hosts Free Nature based activities for Children and Minors accompanied by responsible adults.

Each month we explore a different location in our region to spend time together in the bush and learn about everything from fossils to fungi, wildflowers to waterways and possums to parrots.
